IRISH PUB OF THE WEEK #989- The Crown & Cushion , Waterloo

📍The Squid & Ladle

📍The Feather & Sega Megadrive

📍The Sphinx & Cornichon

📍The Crown & Cushion!

☘️⚡️IRISH PUB OF THE WEEK no. 989. One of the above is the actual name of an actual pub, in the grand ole British stylee. Choose any 2 random nouns, throw them together, that’s your pub name. Call me biased, because I am biased , but I prefer a good ole honest to goodness family named pub, like Kehoes, or Hogans, or that Irish/Cuban one in Prague called O’Che’s .. Anywho, I was tipped off about the Crown and Cushion by an informant from my network of many spies and I’ll be damned if it wasn’t a fine pint of guinness . This is a land that time forgot; located off Waterloo station and patroned by a load of aul boys who were describing in detail their ideal fish n chips. It has road signs from Cork, so that makes it Irish, and a lot of the Irish pub ephemera seems genuinely to be vintage.

This place would appear to be social media proof, but it does kind of looks like a dolls house from the front. As is standard with a pub of Irish origin, the food is Thai. That and and taytos. The Thai and Tayto. Theres your name right there.
